CHAGALL, Marc (1887-1937), typed letter signed, 1 page in-4, - Lot 79
CHAGALL, Marc (1887-1937), typed letter signed, 1 page in-4, addressed to Alain TRUTAT. Beautiful letter: "I have received your letter and thank you for the poem by Jerzy Ficowski which was included in it. I am touched that you thought of me and, through you, I would like to thank this poet whose poetic feelings I share. From my point of view this poem deserves to be placed on its own without any introduction from me. "Etc. Jerzy Ficowski (1924-2006) was a Polish ethnologist (specialist in Jewish and Gypsy folk culture) and man of letters, essayist, lyricist, poet and translator (from Yiddish, Russian, Romani, Hungarian, Romanian). He participated during the Second World War in the Warsaw Uprising. Preserved envelope.
