NOËL, Marie, pen name of Marie ROUGET (1883-1967),... - Lot 76 - Les ventes Damien Voglaire SRL
NOËL, Marie, pen name of Marie ROUGET (1883-1967), correspondence with Edmond LIMBOURG (1910-1992). French catholic poetess, even mystic. The tearing between faith and despair, which culminates in a blasphemous cry that is immediately repented, is particularly poignant here, according to Jeanne-Marie Baude's reading of the Notes intimes. She maintained an important correspondence with intellectuals of her time: Henry de Montherlant, François Mauriac, Jean Cocteau, Colette, Princess Bibesco, and was notably a great friend of the ambassador Léon Noël (1888-1987) (no relation). Process for the beatification of the Servant of God was opened, on Sept. 23, 2017 by the Catholic Church, at the Cathedral of Auxerre, on the 50th anniversary of her death. There is much talk of Raymond Escholier helping Marie Noël (Raymond Escholier, real name Escolier (1882-1971) was a French journalist, novelist and art critic. He was curator of the House of Victor Hugo and the Petit Palais museum). Beautiful testimonies of a friendship. 1.
