                        SILHON [(jean de)]. On the immortality of the soul. A French philosopher, writer and politician, Silhon was secretary to Richelieu before becoming a State Councillor. He participated in the drafting of the statutes of the Académie française in 1634, before its inauguration, and became one of its first members.
