NAVILLE (Pierre). The Revolution and the intellectuals. What - Lot 840
NAVILLE (Pierre). The Revolution and the intellectuals. What can the surrealists do? Position of the question. Paris, 1926, 4° 32 p., stapled. (unbound cover, split back). Ed. orig. Written during his military service, in which Naville tries to make surrealism evolve towards Marxism. This text causes tensions with the surrealist group, although the orientation of the movement does not seem to be different. According to Breton: "There is no one among us who does not wish the passage of power from the hands of the bourgeoisie to those of the proletariat. In the meantime, it is no less necessary, in our opinion, that the experiences of the interior life continue, and this, of course, without external control, even Marxist.
