P., Calmann-Levy, (1912), 8°, 343 p., raspberry raspberry half-marquin with corners, gilt fillets on the plates, spine with 5 ribs, author, gilt title and boxes, cover and spine cons. (binding signed Dubois d'Enghien-Dooms). Original edition 1/60 ex. num. on Holland, only large paper. Copy enriched with an autograph letter from the author in which he describes his "love of the fatherland, [the] respect of the army, [the] defence of our liberties" as well as "the firm confidence that the year 1902 will see the peaceful revolution of disgust". Jules Lemaître (1853-1914) was a French writer and drama critic. In 1899 he participated in the founding of the Ligue de la patrie française, a moderate anti-Dreyfusarde league. He was elected to the French Academy on 20 June 1895. Nice copy.
