                        Unique copy full of original watercolours by Edgar Bohlman - CARCO (Francis). Jesus the Scabbard. P., Grasset, 1928, 8°, 237 p., full green morocco, spine with 5 nerves, gilt author, gilt title and head, gilt fillet on the cuts, edged slipcase (spine evenly faded) (binding signed E. Berthet). First novel by Francis Carco first published in 1914. Ex. num. on rag vellum, with 8 original full-page watercolours by Edgar Bohlman and about ten drawings in the text. Copy enriched with a letter from Bohlman and a few lines in English relating to the illustrations made for this copy. Charming compositions by Edgar Bohlman (Oregon, 1902-?), American painter, decorator, draftsman, illustrator and author. Lived and worked in Rabat, Morocco. Among the pimps and prostitutes of Montmartre, Jesus la Caille, a homosexual pimp, is about to experience love with a woman for the first time.
