Num. 1/230 Holland with a double state of the engraved frontispiece. Ernest Vaughan (1841-1929) is a French press patron and civil administrator. Founder of the newspaper "L'Aurore" in 1897, he was, with Georges Clemenceau, the main architect of the publication of the pamphlet "J'accuse...! "by Émile Zola in January 1898. Second edition of Vaughan's first book, which hides here behind a pseudonym during his exile in Belgium from the Commune.
