First Dadaist manifesto listed - SERNER (Walter). Letzte Loc - Lot 890
First Dadaist manifesto listed - SERNER (Walter). Letzte Lockerung. Dadaist Manifest. Hannover, Paul Steegemann, (1920), 8°, 45 p., stapled (qqs. marginal notations, scattered russ.). Bookmark on cover and title of Louis Saalborn. Dutch director, actor, painter and musician, Louis Saalborn was one of the pioneers of abstract art and had exhibitions with Erich Wichmann and Theo van Doesburg. Original edition. Walter Serner (1889-1942) is, without a doubt, one of the most unknown German-speaking Dadaists in France. He conceived his manifesto "Letzte Lockerung. Manifest Dada" (Last Release, Dada Manifesto), written in Lugano, in March 1918, within the Dada group of Zurich. It is the first Dadaist manifesto ever recorded. Its influence on the German-speaking Dadaists never waned. This important document has remained unpublished in French.
