"Literature". No. 1, 4, 8 and No. 2 and 4 (new series). Fren - Lot 806
"Literature". No. 1, 4, 8 and No. 2 and 4 (new series). French literary review founded in Paris by the Dadaists Louis Aragon, André Breton and Philippe Soupault. A first series of twenty issues is published from March 1919 to August 1921. A new series of thirteen issues is published from March 1922 to June 1924. The first three issues were edited by André Breton and Soupault; the next ten issues were edited by André Breton alone. 5 fascicles: 1. No. 1, March 1919, editors: Louis Aragon, André Breton, Philippe Soupault, 8°, 24 p., stapled; 2. No. 4, June 1919, same editors, 8°, 24 p., stapled; 3. No. 8, October 1919, same editors, 8°, 32 p., stapled; 4. New series, No. 2, April 1, 1922, directors André Breton and Philippe Soupault, 8° square, 24 p., stapled; 5. New series, No. 4, September 1, 1922, director: André Breton, 8° square, 32 p., stapled. Due to the poor quality of the paper: small gaps in the cover, detached cover or cut when folded, the cover of No. 2 of the new series is reinforced with acid-free paper but makes the printing opaque. Nevertheless, good general condition.
