3 original drawings by Léon Bakst, 2 stencils by Picasso, 1 litho by Giorgio de Chirico...- Ballets russes.- Composite album compiling several reviews, programmes and documents relating to the Ballets russes, 1912-1929 (Comoedia illustrée, Gaieté lyrique, Théâtre du Châtelet, ...). Album 4° in half plum wedge-shaped half-sadness, spine with three nerves ornamented and titled gold (the lower plate is dilapidated due to humidity damage which largely spared the inside, the spine is rubbed, the pages are trimmed). Includes 3 superb original full-color drawings by Léon Bakst, enhanced with gold and signed in pencil: 2 watercolors on tracing paper "Firebird. Miss Karsavina" and "Afternoon of a faun" (1912), depicting one of the nymphs, and 1 watercolour on paper "Afternoon of a faun (Nijinsky)". Also note : 2 stencils in colours by Picasso : "Chinese costume in the ballet Parade" and "Costume of acrobat in the ballet Parade" (programme of the Théâtre du Châtelet, May 1917); the program of the "Great season of art of the VIII Olympiad (Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, May-June 1924) complete with Picasso's plate enhanced with blue and yellow pencil in his hand, and enriched with a page bearing a consignment from Francis Poulenc; 1 consignment (partly trimmed) from Serge Prokofieff at the bottom of the page of the ballet program "Chout"; 1 dispatch from Henry Sauguet dated 1951 (official programme of the Ballets Russes at the Théâtre de Monte-Carlo, June 1925) ; 1 dispatch from the composer Nicolas Nabokoff (on the back of the 1928 programme illustrated by Tchelitchew) ; 1 colour lithograph by Giorgio de Chirico (1929 programme); 1 unsigned watercolour and gouache in colour enhanced with gold, unsigned, depicting the Petrouchka by Georges Le Pape; 1 watercolour according to Léon Bakst inspired by the rocky decor of Daphnis and Chloé as well as a watercolour according to Picasso inspired by the decor of Pulcinella.
