TAPTA.- File containing a dozen photos (various... - Lot 879 - Les ventes Damien Voglaire SRL
TAPTA.- File containing a dozen photos (various formats, signed or annotated on the back), greeting cards, postcards, invitation cards, press kits and other items. Projects for Venice "Artelaguna" (with the booklet published at 100 ex. num.), project for the Brussels metro (Veeweyde station), model for Aix-en-Provence, photos for the Arsenal exhibition in Brussels, etc. The invitation card and the catalogue of the exhibition "Sculpture souple", exhibition of the students of La Cambre whose head of workshop is Tapta (presentation of each student accompanied by a work except for Ann Veronica Janssens) are attached. Tapta (Koscian, Poland, 1926 - Brussels, 1997) studied at La Cambre in Brussels, then stayed in the Belgian Congo from 1950 to 1960. She was director of the Flexible Sculpture workshop at La Cambre from 1976 to 1990, and the "Structure" workshop of the Tapestry Foundation in Tournai from 1980. Trained in the arts of weaving, she renews the traditional genre of textiles by means of structures and ropes. She turns towards sculptural form and creates works in dialogue with the surrounding space. Thanks to her and others, tapestry lost the connotation of minor art and ladies' work that it often had in the public mind and became, at the antipodes, a sculpture in its own right. An abstract and geometric sculpture. Numerous solo and group exhibitions: Veranneman Foundation in Kruishoutem, Musée d'Art moderne de la Ville de Paris, Musée des Arts décoratifs in Paris, Venice Biennale, etc.
