RUTAULT (Claude).
Meeting of 5 hand-painted invitation cards. These 5 monochromes were made for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th installations of the square canvas n° 48 of A.M.Z. and reduced by 26% at Michel Tournereau and Daniel Bosser in Paris, between January and November 1988. Enclosed is the press kit and an invitation card from the artist for the presentation of his work at the Consortium in Dijon in 1987. Also enclosed is a postcard, signed, entitled "Papiers transparents, 1976", a work produced and presented by Jean Brolly on the proposal of Claude Rutault. In 1973, Claude Rutault (°1941) stated his first "definition/method" (d/m): "a canvas stretched on a painted frame in the same colour as the wall on which it is hung. all standard commercially available formats can be used, whether rectangular, square, round or oval. the hanging is traditional". Since then, he has proposed 293 others, all of which aim at a general deconstruction of the ways in which the painting exists. Nice set.
