COCTEAU (Jean).
The Cape of Good Hope. Poem. P., Editions de la Sirène, 1919, in-12, unpaginated, br., spine slightly faded. First edition printed at 510 ex. num. 1/500 bouffant. Collection of poems of cubist inspiration, composed between 1915 and 1917 and whose publication marks the beginning of his collaboration with the Editions de la Sirène, founded by Paul Laffitte at the end of 1917. Cocteau evokes his memories of flights and pays tribute to his friend the aviator Roland Garros, who disappeared in aerial combat on October 5, 1918, in the Vouziers sector, aboard his Spad XIII CI, that is to say a few weeks before the end of the printing of the book (December 7, 1918). Interesting typographic layout completely destructured.
