BRYEN (Camille), HAINS (Raymond), VILLEGLE... - Lot 572 - Les ventes Damien Voglaire SRL
BRYEN (Camille), HAINS (Raymond), VILLEGLE (Jacques). Hépérile éclaté. S.l.n.d. [Paris, Les Auteurs, 1953], booklet in-12, br. with trailer attached. First edition printed at 1000 copies. First edition complete of the butterfly stuck opposite the colophon and of the tract-preface in the form of a prayer of insertion. In 1953, Raymond Hains and Jacques Villeglé broke up the typography of a book published by P.A.B. three years earlier, "Hepérile". The book contains a short poem of the same name by Bryen. The text was passed through a machine, the hypnagogoscope, an optical process of image distortion. By writing Hépérile in unknown words, Camille Bryen was organically shouting without reference to vocabulary. "Thanks to Raymond Hains and Jacques de la Villeglé, the two Christopher Columbus of the ultra-letters, here is the first happily unreadable book [...], the first poem to be unread". Rare and beautiful copy.
