Guy Du Faur, seigneur de Pibrac (1529-1584) was a poet, magistrate and diplomat. As a poet, he acquired in his time a great reputation by his quatrains, the first edition of which appeared in 1574. This volume contains moral quatrains by Pibrac and his epigones, works composed at the end of the 16th century and which had a prodigious success throughout the 17th century. The editions of the quatrains of Antoine Faure (1557-1624) are much less numerous. They had appeared in 1601. Rare edition of which we have not found a copy either in the French Union Catalogue or in WorldCat.
