SCHIRREN Ferdinand, born in Antwerp in 1872 and died in Brussels in 1944, is a Belgian painter and sculptor. Three letters sent from Nogent-sur-Marne to George CRETEN, respectively on 14, 16 and 19 February 1921. In a crescendo, Schirren talks about his money problems. He needs 500 frs, then 1000 frs. He does not want to ask Giroux for an advance, but asks him for it. He does not dare to ask Van Heck [?], but asks him to join the exhibition in India. "I thought of telling him about my troubles but I didn't dare! Ah life! It's hard to fight and it's been going on for ages! Talk to him, will you ?! I need a thousand francs to get by. "A long complaint and a long quest. The third letter ends with a half-page in-4 drawing of "Nandinet", Schirren's son who is a little over a year old, the future Belgian composer, musician and teacher Fernand Schirren (1920-2001) / Set of 3 letters.
