FACCHETTI.- CIORAN (E.M.). Michaux. La Passion de l'exhausti - Lot 814
FACCHETTI.- CIORAN (E.M.). Michaux. La Passion de l'exhaustif. Montpellier, Fata Morgana, "Hôtel du Grand Miroir", 1992, folio, full cover, wine-red cloth publisher's folder and slipcase. First edition. 1/30 numbered copies on Arches, the only large paper, signed on the colophon by the author, featuring 5 original photographs signed by Paul Facchetti. Born in 1912 near Brescia, Italy, Paul Facchetti opened a photographic studio in Paris in the '30s and became involved in portrait photography. After the war, he exhibited at the Salon National de la Photographie alongside Brassaï, Izis, Boubat and Doisneau. In 1948, the studio expanded and Paul Facchetti began to work in a variety of genres: fashion, advertising, portraits, nudes and abstract compositions. He joined Otto Steinert's "Subjektive Fotografie" group. In 1951, his studio was transformed into an art gallery open to lyrical abstraction and abstract expressionism. He painted portraits of the artists and literary figures who surrounded him: Dalí, Breton, Paulhan, Michaux, Dubuffet, Truman Capote, etc. A fine copy.
